Pamplona Bull Run, Spain

For people who don’t fear death and love large angry hairy mammals, the Pamplona Bull Run is the perfect festival to combine these two passions. The running of the bulls is part of the San Fermin Festival which begins 6th July until 14th July every year in Pamplona, Spain and involves running through streets with angry bulls giving chase.
Boryeong Mud Festival, South Korea

The mud festival held every year at Boryeong in South Korea is every bit dirty as it sounds, but for lovers of some cheeky mud wrestling this is the festival that is not to be missed. For starters, all that is required for a participant of the mud festival is to wear as little clothing as possible before indulging in some mud covering.
Bolas de Fuego (Nejapa, El Salvador)

This is one festival which is guaranteed to make you say out loud ‘Goodness gracious great balls of fire’ and to begin with, it does not even include chilli powder. Bolas de Fuego translates to balls of fire and one certainly needs guts to participate.
El Colacho Festival, (Castrillo de Murcia, Spain)

The Baby Jumping Festival, better known as the El Colacho Festival which takes place in June of each year in Castrillo de Murcia, Spain, is a truly bizarre Spanish practice that dates all the way back to 1620. It celebrates the Christian Feast of Corpus Christi and involves grown men dressed as the devil jumping over babies born in the last 12 months of the year and kept on mattresses in the street.
Near Death Festival (Las Nieves, Spain)

The country of Spain seems to be a frontrunner as far as weird festivals are concerned and from the looks of it, Near Death Festival takes the cake. Each year on the 29th of July in the town of Las Nieves, Spain, anyone who has a near death experience jumps into a coffin which is carried to the church Santa Marta De Ribarteme. What follows is a trip to the cemetery, where the lucky escapees bestow offerings and gifts upon a statue of Santa Marta for all her help keeping them safe.
