Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of the forgotten wonders of the world. Pisa is a city in central Italy, in the center of Tuscany. It is located on the River Arno and is one of the major tourist centers of Europe. The tower is located in the part of the town called Piazza del Duomo. The tower was built in the Romanesque style. It is famous for its leaning position. Often, it is believed that the slope of the tower has something to do with mystical powers, but the reality is that this happened because of the composition of the ground on which tower was built. This tower is 55 meters high and has eight floors. The eighth floor is the belfry, and is somewhat smaller diameter than other floors. Even thou there are still bells in the tower they do not ring any more. Exterior of the tower is decorated with multicolor marble on which drawings are carved. At the front door, which was specifically decorated, there are carved drawings of animals. The interior of the tower features 294 spiral stairs to the belfry.

Increased modernization and technology brought about the concepts of malls. The malls offered you a plethora of different items and brands all under one roof. These malls were equipped with more and more amenities with time. today the malls are equipped with the digital theaters, food courts, sports centers etc. The exteriors and interiors of these shopping plazas are just mesmerizing. Here is the list of the top ten largest shopping malls in the world.

Beijing Shopping Mall, China
One of the biggest malls in China the Beijing Shopping Mall was opened in the year 2005. The mall is spread over an area of 3.4 million square feet and has hundreds of different shops. The mall is known for its man made beach. The mall has a huge parking lot that can store more than 8,000 cars at a time.

SM City Shopping Mall North Edsa, Philippines

Amazing Anatomical Cross-Sections Made From Paper

Artist Lisa Nilsson creates beautiful anatomical cross sections of the human body using rolled pieces of Japanese mulberry paper, a technique known as quilling or paper filigree. Quilling was first practiced by Renaissance nuns and monks who made artistic use of the gilded edges of worn out bibles, and later by 18th century ladies who made artistic use of lots of free time.

“I find quilling exquisitely satisfying for rendering the densely squished and lovely internal landscape of the human body in cross section”, says Nilsson. “I employ a device of making all of the bones in my work from the gilded edges of old books. I do this for aesthetic reasons as well as a means of pulling the pieces away from the world of scientific specimens and a bit more in the direction of religious reliquaries.”

Lisa Nilsson is a Rhode Island School of Design graduate who lives in the northeastern U.S. Lisa’s Tissue Series was exhibited last summer at a Massachusetts gallery, and featured quilled human anatomy cross sections displayed in silk covered, wooden boxes she made by hand.

Studio Word of Mouth therefore envisioned and developed an enjoyable space, where different functions interact and overlap in an original way. Here is more from the architects: “The dining area also becomes a lounge, the living zone flows seamlessly into the pool area, and each bedroom functions also as a living space. The first floor is dominated by the master bedroom, flanked on 3 sides by green terraces, which maximise natural light and enhance the perception of the size of the space. The overall aesthetic of the villa is a tribute to the Mediterranean architecture that played a role in the backgrounds of both the client and Italian-born Audrito. Rounded corners are favoured over hard edges in order to infuse a softness to the imposing lines of the structure“.

More than half-a-million people were drawn to the Luminaire De Cagna LED-light display at the 2012 Light Festival in Ghent, Belgium. Luminaire De Cagna became the main attraction of the Festival that included more than 30 other displays and exhibitions. The stunning Romanesque cathedral is constructed of wood, covered with 55,000 LED lights and reaching 28 meters (92 ft.) into the sky. The structure is the work of Luminarie De Cagna, an Italian family business with a long tradition of building festive and enormous light displays, initially comprised of oil and carbide lamps but later replaced with less hazardous electric lights.
